Wizard of Hockey

Dhyan Chand who was called the "Wizard of Hockey" played as though the ball was stuck to the stick ! So much so, officials during one of his travels broke his hockey stick while looking for magnets inside !

Dhyan Chand, one of the best hockey players to date, has a statue of his, in Vienna, built by a sports club there. The statue shows Dhian Chand with 4 (four) hands and 4 (four) sticks ! Quite a compliment !

Dhanraj Pillay, ace hockey player is the only Indian to have played in 4 (four) Olympics, 4 (four) World Cups, 4 (four) Champions Trophies, 4 (four) Asian Games and 4 (four) Asia Cups !

August 29, which is hockey great Dhyan Chand's birthday, is observed as National Sports Day is India. Did you know that ?

In the world of designer shoes and shoes made specifically for each sport Dhyan Chand in the Olympic Games against Germany played barefoot and scored 7 (seven) goals to take the country to a massive win.

Hockey is the only sport in India that has won India an Olympic Gold. Not once but 8 (eight) times !
